Lampard seemed not focused on reports of imminent sack
The Blues legendary midfielder was all shades of duty during training today amid pressures at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard earlier admitted to the chances of getting sacked before the expiration of his three-year-deal with the club as a result of poor results, but expressed his commitment to getting the team back on track.
Newly called-up U-23s yet to join proceedings
Five U-23 players were said to be joining the senior team for their FA Cup tie on Sunday but didn’t make an appearance in training today.
Amongst the lot are supposedly Tino Anjorin and Valentino Livramento, with the former already used to senior team football.
Edouard Mendy could be nearing his best form for the Blues
The 28-year-old Senegalese has suffered in goal of late, having kept just one clean sheet in his last six appearances in goal for the Blues.
But given his amazing reputation as one of the best shot-stoppers, the former Rennes goalie could be approaching his best form since arriving West London last summer after a stunning outing in training today.
Chelsea will host Morecambe on Sunday at Stamford Bridge before a trip to Craven Cottage next Friday for Fulham clash.
